My Experience with Linode – Review After One year
Linode is VPS service provider with data centers in different locations. And a lot of configuration option with good uptimes and responsive support. This Linode review is based on my own experience with Linode.
I've been using Linode from past one year. Linode 1GB VPS servers are reliable and fast enough to run high traffic websites with CPanel Server Software.
Yet sometimes, there are some issues with 1GB RA M servers. It's better to go with 2GigaBytes of RAM. After upgrading to 2GB RAM, there is no lag in my website after upgrading to 2GB. But recently Linode removed 1GB RAM plan. Basic

My Experience with Linode
Initially, I was searching for a VPS service provider in 2014 to move from shared hosting to VPS. Before that, I know nothing about VPS. After creating a Linode account, gone through their documentation. For the first two months tried all the options like installation of operating system and CPanel setup, setting up websites in Linode.
After the testing mode, I came to know that I can successfully move & run a live website into Linode VPS. I trasnferred a website that's getting few thousand unique visitors. Transferred it to Linode's 1GB RAM VPS with CPanel. Few days it went smoothly after that frequent database crashes occurred. To fix this issue, I restarted the VPS machine within few minutes, the problem got resolved (It's instant fix).
Facing this problem again and again, so I submitted a support request to Linode team. They replied they can't login to my Linode because it's against their TOS. They suggested upgrading to 2GB plan. Here is the screenshot of the email from Linode team.
After that submitted same issue to CPanel, they clearly mentioned that due to insufficient system resources database is crashing. They suggested me to upgrade to the more powerful system. Here is the quoted message "I would highly advise either adding more memory to the server to accommodate this, or, adjusting your MySQL configuration to limit the amount of memory used."
After upgrading I haven't faced any problem. Upgrading is simple, select the configuration and click on upgrade button. It will be done in few minutes.
I would recommend Linode, but you should be able to take care of server requirements. Otherwise, no one will help you. At least you should have a little bit of knowledge about Linux and CPanel.
Conclusion Linode Review
I highly recommend Linode, if you want to move from shared hosting to VPS.
But before moving your live website, do some testing. Whether you are able to solve the issues you are facing in Linux server or not. If you are not able to solve those issues, you need to take professional support.
